For over nine years Project Solidarity, through your support, has truly made a difference in the lives of hundreds of our Honduran brothers and sisters. Re-building a technical school, educating hundreds of children, sponsoring nutrition programs, re-building churches, sponsoring self-sustaining micro businesses, funding an agricultural cooperative, sponsoring fresh water programs, re-building a free clinic and now developing a very unique housing project, in which 54 homes are being built by the very people who will occupy them. This is how your donations have been utilized, this is how hope is being restored, this is how lives are being changed forever.

I want to personally thank you for your assistance in the past. However, as you can imagine, the need continues and we as Church are called to respond to those most in need. As Pope Benedict reminds us in his first Encyclical entitled God is Love, “The Church is God’s family in the world. In this family no one ought to go without the necessities of life.” We have discovered that one of the greatest needs is for families to have a safe, secure and dignified place to live.

From this point forward, for at least the next five years, Project Solidarity will focus all its efforts on the development of this housing project. So far we have built 4 noble, dignified homes and we are half-way finished with the forth home. We have 5 homes to go.

As a way of responding to this desperate need, Project Solidarity has developed a new program called Huts to Homes. In this program we are trying to move 54 families from huts to a home. A real home. We hope to accomplish this by asking that you and the other 500 friends of Project Solidarity, contribute $10.00 a month for the next five years in order to complete this project and make the dream of owning a home a reality for these families. If all of our friends like you respond we will generate $5,000 a month, which would be just enough to continue moving forward with this project.
